Awesome info...especially when they were faded in and out. I was actually considering the e906, but since this have changed my mind. I currently use 2 SM57's to mic up for shows, I think I'll just stick with 'em. Also, after looking at them, the SM seems to be more "placeable". I have a spot marked on my grill cloth of where to put the mics and can get right down to a single point that I want the tone to come from with the 57s. Seems like the 906's might be a little harder to do this with because of their "cool" shape. Soundwise, the 57 and the 906 seemed pretty close as well.
Thanks Brandon, you saved me a couple hundred bucks!

Glad to hear it. Since they are similar tone-wise, the 906 isn't a bad buy, but if you can get a similar sound out of the cheaper 57 and you use two on stage, then you've got to consider which is more cost effective. Glad I could help you make up your mind in that area. |

Heard your response on the podcast. Just wanted to say "Thanks!" to Neil as well. LOL. Also, I know it's kind of a small point, but figured considering the shape of the 906, it "could" cause some difference in placement when you're talking about "off axis" anyway. Getting into that though is so minute, I seriously doubt it would cause much, if any, difference in sound.
